I don't know why or what was going on the other night, but I smacked Bob in the middle of his forehead with my elbow while we were sleeping. I don't know if I was dreaming, or if I flung my arm while I was rolling over, or if my arm had been stuck in the sheets and blankets and when I got it free it hit him in the head.

Bob suggested that maybe, since he had to have been laying on his back, that he was snoring and I was trying to shut him up. Whatever it was, I can't help fall into laughter every time we talk about it.

I did get a new washer and dryer. It wasn't an emergency that we get a new set, but we just knew that the emergency was coming any time now.

A week or so ago I was getting ready to take the puppy outside for a short walk when I noticed that my washer was finished. I set it to spin again since my dryer had been taking forever to dry loads of clothes...70 minutes per load if I was lucky and this was just a regular washer and dryer. When I came back inside I got miffed, thinking that the puppy piddled on the floor before we even made it outside. Then I realized that the puddle was way too big to be puppy piddle. My washer had spewed.

Bob tore part of it apart and couldn't see anything wrong with it except for the fact that it wasn't completely level. He leveled it and we prayed that it would hold out a while longer.

Then the dryer wasn't even drying a load of clothes at 70 minutes anymore. So, we started researching HE washers and dryers. If I had to get a new set, I was getting an HE one! I wanted front loaders, but the set that I got (Samsung top loader) was more within our budget.

Yeah, I need a step stool to get the clothes out of the bottom.

We ended up finding a new home for the puppy (just a couple of days ago). He was a sweet guy and all, but our indoor dog, Milo, just would NOT accept him. The problem was escalating. Milo didn't hurt the puppy at all, but scared him (and us) plenty of times. We have decided that there will be no new dogs as long as Milo is alive. He's family, and we have accepted the fact that he just doesn't like other dogs.

Both of the cats and Milo are back to their normal, happy selves. I didn't realize that they were all so upset by the new creature.

I had a cooking fail the other night that I was, thankfully, able to salvage. I bought Chicken Helper Chicken Carbonara. That stuff smelled horrible while it was cooking. It smelled like old, stinky, rotten cheese. I kept going and finished it, hoping that it would be better once it was done. Um, no...it was awful. I like cheese, but not that. Boo eats just about anything and even she said that she couldn't eat it.

So, I pulled all of the chicken out of the goop and rinsed it off. Then I shredded it and put it into a frying pan with some taco seasoning and water. I put it over Doritos (Cool Ranch, it was all I had in the house) and topped it with cheddar cheese. It tasted great! The taco seasoning covered up the awful Chicken Helper taste.

Thanks for visiting!!

  1. Or maybe he did something to make you mad in your dream?? LOL TOO FUNNY!!!
When The Hubby snores, I just pinch his nostrils together. Works like a charm. ;)

    1. I need to remember the nostril thing! Thankfully, once I'm asleep I normally don't hear anything.

  2. Very smart to replace your washer once you see water. We waited too long and ours leaked down into the 57 inch tv on the floor below. That bill was not fun, and it was on top of having to get a new washer and dryer!

    1. Oh, wow!! Yeah, we wouldn't be replacing anything in that case. Thankfully, my washer and dryer are on the first floor, but still...

  3. I laughed at your top loader comment. I swear that one day I'm going to fall in that thing. Congrats on getting the new appliances though. They make a huge difference.
Way to save the chicken dinner. My boys would love the Cool Ranch Dorito add-in.

    1. Yeah, that thing is huge. Both Bob and Clone of Bob think it's hilarious that I need a step stool, or (as I found yesterday) grill tongs.

  4. We replaced ours after Christmas. Our washer decided it no longer wanted to agitate. I understand the need for a step stool. It's a long way to the bottom!

When my husband snores, I tickle him. LOL

    1. Try grill tongs, lol! Much easier than the step-stool.

Oh, I never thought of tickling. I might be less likely to tick him off, lol!

  5. Poor your hubby...LOL

glad you got a new washer and dryer. We rent and ourr washer leaked something awful, but it was only repaired...I pray it works until we leave...

    1. I kept thinking Bob would repair our set, I was really shocked when he replaced. I won't complain.

      I hope yours holds out!!

  6. Congrats on the new Washer and dryer!!!
Honestly, I'd trade my front loaders for top loaders ANY day. Good choice!
Ours went out with a flood last month but my handy hubby got it working again but not after I had been lusting after a new set.

    1. I was leery about the top loaders because I heard that they don't clean as well. Although, they do better than the dinosaur I had before them.

  7. I have a top loader and LOVE IT, even though I have to lean halfway into it to get clothes out. Short girl problems.

  8. There's something special about a new washer and dryer, isn't there? Good thinking about the taco seasoning!
