Use Your Words-December 2014
Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.
At the end of this post you’ll find links to the other blogs featuring this challenge. Check them all out, see what words they got and how they used them.
My words are: Thankful ~ Beautiful ~ Wonderful ~ I am ~ Celebrate ~ Positive
They were submitted by: http://www.eviljoyspeaks.wordpress.com
Sorry that this isn't part 2 of my Talking Turkey post, but I think these words wouldn't have been used to their full potential if I had made them part of that story. Maybe next month will give me the opportunity to continue the story!
My husband and I will celebrate 20 years of marriage this month. My husband has been wonderful and supportive over the years. We've produced and are raising two beautiful children that I cherish.
I am thankful that my mother made it through major surgery (splenectomy due to lymphoma) two weeks ago and I am positive that she is on the road to recovery.

My words are:
corner ~ dome ~ city ~ cornucopia ~ talk turkey
They were submitted by: http://www.someoneelsesgenius.com
With these interesting words, the only way to go is a work of fiction! All of I could think of was the teen fiction books I've read over the past few years.
The girl looked up at the sky, at the dome above the city, to judge what time it was. She figured she had enough time to get to the cornucopia, get the weekly ration of supplies for her family, and back to their little house on the corner before the daily rain hit.
As she ran through town square to the cornucopia, she heard a little boy making noises nearby. It sounded like he was trying to talk turkey. She walked over to him intending to make sure he was okay when she realized that he really was trying to talk turkey as he was trying to coax a live turkey out from under a bush!
To Be Continued (when I get another batch of words that I'm at a loss what to do with!)

My words are:
Log cabin ~ highland cattle ~ crack of dawn ~ site ~ bread ~ dump
They were submitted by: http://thethreegerbers.blogspot.ch
There are days when I wish we lived in a log cabin in the middle of the woods, and had enough money for Bob to retire early. We could move to Scotland and raise Highland cattle; that's far away from everything, right?
Bob's work schedule has been crazy lately. When he has an out of town job, he thinks he's being smart by going into work early so that they can get on the road for the long drive to the job site. It seems like he's been going into work at the crack of dawn a lot lately.
For some reason he thinks I need to get up when he gets up. This used to be true when the kids were still going to public school. I liked to be up early enough to drink a little coffee before I had to get the kids up. But, I've been homeschooling for 6 years and that isn't the case anymore. (He's gotten used to me packing his lunch and pouring his coffee while he gets ready for work.)
I could clean the house, bake bread, and make a trip to the dump before the kids get out of bed when I'm getting up that early. Of course, I usually make Bob go to the dump and I don't bake bread even though I'm sure it tastes better. I don't even do much cleaning until I've finished my second cup of coffee.
Shhh...don't tell Bob, but there have been mornings that I went back to bed as soon as his truck was out of the driveway.
Now, take some time and see what words the other bloggers got and what they've done with them :)
I wonder who got mine!?
